Really? again? Just read from Nitrolicious, Marimekko is trying to get younger generation audience again. I remember it was 2 or 3 years ago, Marimekko had one small collaboration with H&M. Holy hideous collection and everything went on sale later. This time, the No.1 Finnish print design house ( I don't wanna call it high fashion brand)mixed up with iconic street footwear brand -- Converse. I really don't think this collaboration gonna be anything big in design or in marketing, except for Finns and Japanese. Marimekko's print design is classic and timeless. But Converse is urban and relaxing. There is no sparkle going on there. Cos those Converse buyer are not gonna care about who the hell is Marimekko. Perhaps, Mari's loyal housewife customers will buy them for their teenage daughter who only recognize Converse star not the Mari's print.
And the campaign name order is "Converse ♥ Marimekko". Converse is first but the campaign is all about Marimekko. Marimekko is really lowing down its pride and desperate for recruiting future customers.
